The National Park Service, Harpers Ferry Center, is soliciting proposals to provide professional services for the technical design development of new architectural signage and way finding directional systems for the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum complex, including the 1.7 acre grounds surrounding the museum and the Museum's Administrative annex building. Extensive work sessions with museum's personnel in Washington, DC will be required. Specific tasks include the following: Utilize available data to make first-hand observations that would be useful in the design of the signage; review all architectural plans, building materials and drawings; develop a preliminary Sign Schedule; conduct an evaluative process; investigate circulation patterns and establish a way finding strategy; investigate and establish an information strategy; develop vocabulary delineating not only nomenclature and numerical identification; develop a Master Plan; test and evaluate representative aspects of the Master Plan; prepare buildable drawings and specifications for fabrication including schedule; and incorporate consideration of accessibility into all aspects and elements.
