but not limited to repair and rehabilitation of approxmiately 305,000
SF of airfield structures. This project shall be accomplished as
removal and installation. Removal shall consist of: removing existing
asphaltic concrete (AC) and Portland cement concrete (PCC) pavements.
These pavements shall be crushed to aggregate size not greater than 2
inches and used to construct haul route; remove and stockpile on site
sand/shell base materials to be reinstalled as a subgrade stabilizer by
roto-till method; remove and dispose off base sand-asphalt base
materials; remove, regrade and/or compact existing subgrade as required
to establish final grades, excess suitable subgrade materials will be
spoiled on base as haul road fill or at subgrade spoil site as shown in
project drawings; remove and dispose of concrete encased conduit
conductor and ground wire as shown, approximately 40 taxiway light
fixtures and handholds, 2 airfield signs, 6 junction handholds.
Installation shall consist of: stabilizing the 6'' of final subgrade
with the previously removed sand/shell materials according to FL DOT
specification Section 160; 6 inches of a crushed graded aggregate base
course; 13 inces, 700 psi flexural strength Portland cement concrete
pavement with specified reinforcement and dowels; install new taxiway
lights as shown with supporting electrical system including but not
limited to concrete encased conduit, #8 AWG 5KV, unshielded single
conductor, #6 AWG bare copper ground wire, transformers, connector
kits, lamps bases and baseplate; accpmplish all joint sealing, striping
and signage as called for. Shoulder slopes along airfield pavements
will be stabilized by sodding, seeding or sprigging natural local grass
varieties to a distance of 25 feet. NOTE: This is NOT a return to
existing conditions. If seeding or sprigging is used, grasses along
slopes shall be established by the date of beneficial occupancy to
prevent erosion of slopes by jet and propwash. If sodding is to
applied, sod shall be pegged to provide anchorage against jet and
propwash until root structures have been established. Slope
establishment along Haul Road shall be the width of the swales and to
the extent that stromwater erosion in the swale is negated. Site
clearing, site preparation, utilities, electrical and other incidental
work as may be necessary to make the facility operational, including
clearing and grubbing a 3.22 acre heavily wooded area for batch plant
and stockpile operations, and constructing a 5500 LF haul road from
crushed pavements. The work shall be fully complete in accordance with
the Contract Documents. There is a non-refundable charge of $20.00 for
each solicitation package. Make checks, money orders or bank drafts
payable to Accounting and Finance. Only written requests will be
accepted. The request and check, money order or bank draft must bear
the solicitation number. This is an unrestricted acquisition. Estimated
