PROJECT CONTAINS HAZARDOUS MATERIALS. The work includes complete
interior and partial exterior renovation. Specific items of work
include asbestos abatement, demolition, cast-in-place concrete,
concrete masonry, finish carpentry, synthetic stucco, built-up roofing,
aluminum storefront systems, wood doors, metal doors and metal frames,
aluminum windows, finish hardware, drywall, carpeting, resilient
flooring, ceramic and porcelain tile flooring, painting, wall covering,
miscellaneous specialties, HVAC, plumbing, electrical and related
incidental work. Bid opening date listed in item 10 is approximate.
Request bid documents by 24 August 1995. NOTE: Contract to be awarded
to low bidder as soon as possible after bid opening date but work is
not to be started until January 1996. Estimated cost is between
$1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. The proposed acquisition listed herein
is being considered for 100% set-aside for small disadvantaged business
(SDB) concerns. Interested SDB Concerns shall notify this office IN
WRITING, Attn: Code R20.3 of their intention to bid the project as
prime contractor as early as possible but no later than 15 days after
this notice. THIS NOTIFICATION MUST INCLUDE A POSITIVE STATEMENT OF
ELIGIBILITY AS A SMALL SOCIALLY AND ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED BUSINESS
CONCERN, EVIDENCE OF CAPACITY TO OBTAIN REQUIRED BONDS AND SPECIFIC
INFORMATION CONCERNING MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE IN SIMILAR WORK AND
FINANCIAL STATUS SHALL BE SUBMITTED WITH REFERENCES. IF YOU HAVE
SUBMITTED THIS INFORMATION TO THIS OFFICE WITHIN THE LAST YEAR, YOU
NEED ONLY TO STATE THAT YOU HAVE SUBMITTED AND REQUEST THE PLANS AND
SPECIFICATION. If adequate interest is not received from SDB concerns,
the solicitation will be issued on an unrestricted basis without
further notice. Therefore, replies to this office are requested from
all interested business concerns as well as from small disadvantaged
business concerns. PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS CAN NO LONGER BE PICKED UP
