Thompson, 301/713-0823 National Environmental Satellite, Data and Information Service (NESDIS) has a requirement for engineering and Technical Services. The areas requiring support will encompass (i) launch vehicle, spacecraft system, ground system, and instrument definition design and development, fabrication, integration, pre-launch, launch and post-launch operations: (ii) satellite communications and control; and (iii) data acquisition, processing, distribution, analysis and archiving. Efforts associated with this acquisition will be controlled by the National Oceanic and Atomospheric Administration through specific task orders, with predetermined schedules and costs. General task orders may include, but are not limited to the following: engineering and design studies, project management support, configuration control, system testing, system evaluation, system documentation, library maintenance, training support, operation support and procedures development, technical documentation simulations, RF systems support, spacecraft systems support, and human factors engineering. It is contemplated that a cost-plus-fixed-fee-term contract will be awarded with a base period of performance of 12 months and 4 option years with a 12-month period of performance.
