EMV-95-B-X358 POC MARIA L. MARTIN/540-542-2300 Contractor shall
provide all the necessary materials, equipment, and personnel required
to construct a two story addition to an existing building. The
addition will be 90' long x 60' wide x 40' high. Site work includes: a
new access road, clearing, grubbing, site excavation water line, sewer
line, storm drainage, electrical service, and walkways. The addition
shall be a two story concrete block structure with exterior insulation
system, trussed roof, and fiberglass shingles. Interior work shall
include: open web steel joist second floor, two stop elevator,
stairwell tower, restrooms, breakrooms, storage, electrical closets,
mechanical room, steel stud/drywall systems, insulation, raised floors,
carpet, ceramic tile, trim, windows, doors harware, venetian blinds,
drapery and painting. Construction must meet the Americans with
Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements. Mechanical work shall include:
replacement of existing chiller with a new screw chiller, new
glycooler, new air handler units, pumps, duct work, insulation,
diffusers, chilled/ hot water piping, and plumbing/sewer system.
Electrical work will include: 120/208 volt secondary system, 480 volt
system for large mechanical equipment, and a standby generator.
Electrical installation will include: load centers, equipment starters,
disconnects, lighting, receptacles, conduit, and wiring. Communications
work will include: installation of communications conduit for computer,
telephone, video and camera mount systems. Fire protection work will
include new fire alarm panel, heat/ smoke detectors, necessary conduit
and wiring. Period of performance shall be 230 calendar days.
Estimated construction range is between 1 and 5 million dollars. Work
will be performed at the Federal Emergency Management Agency, Mt.
Weather Emergency Assistance Center, 19844 Blue Ridge Mountain Road
(State Route 601), Bluemont, Virginia 22012. This will be a Firm-Fixed
Price contract. EMV-95-B-X358 will be issued O/A 8/14/95 with an
opening date of bids approximately 30 days thereafter. The dates as
stated are estimated and will be finalized in the IFB. Specifications
and drawings will be available upon receipt of a written request to the
above address ATTN: Maria L. Martin and a $50.00 deposit
(non-refundable) for each set with checks payable to the U.S. Treasurer
(personal checks unacceptable). A prebid conference will be held prior
to bid opening, attendance is encouraged but not mandatory. Date and
time for the prebid conference will be stated in bid document. This
solicitation is unrestricted. Bids from all qualified business concerns
are solicited. If a large business concern is selected it must submit
a subcontracting plan on the work it intends to subcontract in
accordance with FAR 19.704, in order to be eligible for award. Firms
interested in receiving a copy of the IFB should respond in writing
within 15 days from the date of this publication. Bidders who responded
to the presolicitation notice dated April 14, 1995, do not need to
resubmit a request. This project is subject to the availability of
