678-3338. White Sands Missile Range, NM intends to negotiate, on the
basis of other than full and open competition, with COHERENT, Inc,
Laser Group, 8203 South Saint Paul Way, Littleton, CO 80122, in
accordance with FAR 6.302-1, for the purchase of one (1) continuous
wave (CW) argon ion laser (AIL). Specifically, a COHERENT, Inc, Laser
Group, Model DBW 25/7 Innova Sabre CW AIL with visible and ultraviolet
(UV) multiband and single line wavelength optics, accessories,
operator kit to include but not limited to special tools, instruction
and operator manuals, functional schematics, diagnostic repair manuals,
electrical/electronic and mechanical function schematics, and operator
training for ten (10) students. The requirement is for a field-usable
integrated CW AIL rated at 25 watts (W) multiband. The CW AIL must be
an integrated field-usable system in unit enclosures suitable for
fork-lift loading and unloading, and transportable by a truck or van,
and require only external electrical power and cooling water for
operation. Required multiband wavelengths and laser beam powers levels
are as follows: Visible: 454.5 nanometers (nm) to 528.7 nm, equal to
or greater than 25 W; Standard UV: 333.6 nm to 363.8 nm, equal to or
greater than 7.0 W; Long UV: 351.1 nm to 385.8 nm, equal to or greater
than 4.4 W; Short UV: 300.3 nm to 335.8 nm, equal to or greater than
3.0 W; Deep UV: 275.4 nm, single line, equal to or greater than 400
milliwatts (mW). Routine operator conversion to either visible or UV
multiband and single line wavelengths is required, including automatic
operator and remote IEEE-488 computer selection of laser beam output
power and all visible and UV single line wavelengths. Required delivery
is FOB White Sands Missile Range, NM within 30 days after contract
award. WRITTEN solicitation requests are preferred and should be sent

(505) 678-5107. Solicitation requests must be accompanied by
descriptive literature suitable for evaluation purposes and must
indicate that the potential offeror can meet the requirement for the
above stated equipment. The solicitation will be issued on or about 11
Aug 95 with an estimated closing date of 11 Sep 95. See Numbered Note
22 except that responses must be received within 15 days of
