The Department of Energy, Alaska Power Administration, intends to award a sole source contract to the Alaska Electric Light and Power Company to perform power operations functions at its Thane Substation, and transmission line maintenance from the remote Snettisham hydro facility to the Thane Substation. Snettisham is a hydroelectric facility located approximately 28 air miles south of Juneau, Alaska. Services to be performed include remote operations and monitoring of hydroelectric power generators at the Snettisham facility by means of a SCADA control system, transmission line maintenance services, substation operations, and related duties as specified. The Thane Substation is a joint use facility for the delivery and receiving of electric power by the local electric utility. This is a small business labor surplus are set-aside. (206)
