Z -- SHORELINE PROTECTION QTRS A/FUEL PIER, NAVAL AIR STATION, PATUXENT RIVER, MARYLAND SOL N62477-95-B-3082. The purpose of this project is to stabilize approximately 2,000 linear feet of eroding shoreline along Patuxent River, on the Naval Air Warfare Center, Patuxent River, Maryland. This project consists of a 525 foot armor stone revetment; a 70 foot spur with a 50 foot weir section that transitions to a 140 foot breakwater; and construction of three other breakwaters 175 feet, 160 feet, and 100 feet respectively. The subject work also involves the establishment of a marsh substrate/beachfill of approximately 62,800 SQ. FT. which is to be planted with Spartina alterniflora and Spartina patens. The armor stone revetment will require approximately 1,400 CY of 2,500-3000 lbs. stone. The Breakwaters, spur, and weir will require approximately 5,200 CY of 2,500-4,000 lbs. stone. Grading of the existing shoreline and extension of existing stormwater outfalls will also be required. The estimated cost of construction is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. The IFB date is 14 August 1995. The only site visit is tentatively scheduled for 28 August 1995 at 10:00AM. Submit request in writing for receiving plans and specifications.
