DesJarlais, 804/441-6580 The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with the International Science Foundation to provide support for the Comprehensive Aerological Reference Data Set (CARDS) research project being conducted at the National Climatic Data Center, Asheville, NC and in Obninsk, Russia. The contractor shall provide logistical support services for the CARDS project. The proposed contract action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302-1. The International Science Foundation is the only known source with the expertise, capabilities, and personnel available to provide the required support services. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within forty-five days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
