Los Alamos National Laboratory, P.O. Box 1663, M.S. F650, Los Alamos NM 87545

A -- BASIC RESEARCH WORK Sol RFI-NIS4-VSEN. Contact P.M. Ward, Business Operations Division, M.S. F650, (505) 667-2159, FAX (505) 665-2536. The University of California, which operates the Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) under contract to the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), is seeking sources with an interest in conducting a three month study to assess available technologies in broadband, linear radio receivers and sub-band triggers for us in space-based nuclear proliferation monitoring and treaty verification. Receivers will have 25 MHz RF bandwidth tunable in the RF band from 30-150 MHz. Sub-band triggers with 0.5 to 2 MHz bandwidth will be employed to reject noise and narrowband interference in the input signal. Stable propagation delay in sub-band trigger is required for very precise time-difference-of-arrival measurement of events of interest. This precursor study may result in a follow-on effort to produce flight subsystems for deployment in the GPS Block IIF NDS payloads. To qualify for receiving a Request for Proposal, the qualified organizations must have demonstrated experience in space-qualified RF systems; and, must possess, or be able to obtain, security clearance to the DOD-Secret level. A statement of your area of interest, capabilities, experience and/or expertise is requested to be sent to the above address within 21 days after the date of this publication. Your statement(s) of interest should not exceed ten pages exclusive of resumes and brochures. No letters, postcards, or telephone requests for the solicitation package will be accepted. (213)
