The FHWA plans to enter into a Cooperative Agreement for transportation research and information studies with the National Academy of Sciences under the authority of FAR 6.302-3(a)(2)(ii). Objectives of this agreement are to: (1) support and stimulate the Nationally Coordinated Program of Research and Development and Technology; (2) disseminate highway and urban transportation research findings and promote their implementation; (3) maintain the operations of the Transportation Research Information System; and (4) conduct studies, reviews, conferences and training relating to highway transportation, safety and technology. This agreement is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate only with the National Academy of Sciences under the authority of FAR 6.302-3(a)(2)(ii). See Numbered Note 22.
