J -- REFURBISH AIRCRAFT SEATS SOL F04700-95-TB930 POC Sharyl Moon, Contract Negotiator, (805) 277-3900 x2243 John Adair, Contracting Officer, (805) 277-3900 x2230. The Government intends to procure the following requirement from Burns Aerospace Corp., Inglewood CA: Refurbish/modify eleven (11) each aircraft seats; remove existing consoles and replace with smaller plug-in consoles, widen back structures, provide bottom structures to accommodate plug-in consoles, provide new fully contoured back cushions with built-in lumbar support, wider bottom cushions, and arm caps. Existing seat back frames will be cut and extended to provide more space for new cushions. New metal seat backs will be added to maintain structural integrity. Frames will be rewelded and heat treated to meet current specifications. Seats will be recovered with leather. Seats must be disassembled and re-assembled to meet FAA standards and FAA certification will be required. Contractor must have the capability to respond to Edwards AFB within a four hour time frame because of the limited availability of the aircraft. Seats and leather will be furnished by the government. The procedure to be used in awarding this contract is written quotation and the anticipated award date is 22 August 1995. Burns Aerospace Corp. was selected as the source for this procurement for its ability to: meet the required time constraints/proximity to Edwards AFB, meet FAA requirements, and to obtain FAA certification.
