Alvin Tamura, (312) 669-5958 The U.S. Postal Service is soliciting contractors for the renovation of the retail lobby and rent-a-box area, the upgrading of the entrance vestibule, upgrading of the exterior glazing and construction of the bulk mail office at the loading dock. Construction contract will be awarded by FY95, but contractor will not begin work at job site until issuance of Notice to Proceed on January 30, 1996, when retail and Rent-A-Box Postal Operations are temporarily relocated. Contractor during the interim may process shop drawings. Contractor must include cost in his offer to process shop drawings during the interim of Award and Notice to Proceed. Renovation work must conform to the postal retail store guidelines. Construction cost range: $253,000.00 to $279,000.00. A pre-proposal conference is scheduled for Wednesday, August 23, 1995 at 1:30 pm at the Main Post Office, 200 W Second St, Royal Oak, Michigan. Construction completion time will be one hundred eighty (180) calendar days from date of receipt of Notice to Proceed.
