The FAA Technical Center intends to acquire an Explosive Detection Security System General Purpose Scanner-II, (EDSS GPS-II) (a trace explosive detection device) manafactured by CPAD Holdings, LTD. This device is capable of detecting a wide variety of explosives as well as all the ICAO taggants. It can be used to screen electronics, luggage, and personnel. The system has the capability to scan people for both explosives and weapons through the development of a body scanning probe. This is a Sole Source Procurement. All responses must be in writing. In the absence of responses from firms that believe they have the capabilities to satisfy this requirement, the FAA Acquisition Office intends to award a Firm Fixed Price type contract with CPAD Holdings, LTD., 11 Tristan Court, Unit D, Nepean, Ontario, KZE8B9, on a noncompetitive basis for the requirement described above. Mere indication of interest is not sufficient. A response must show you have the ability to complete the requirement on a satisfactory basis and that you have the necessary skills, qualified personnel, experience and past performance in similar work. Your response must be received at this office within 15 days from the date of publication of this notice. This is not a request for proposal.
