Notice is hereby provided that the Bureau of the Census Procurement Division, Suitland, MD has implemented an electronic commerce/electronic data interchange capability and has certified interim FACNET in accordance with Subpart 4.5 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation and the Federal Acquisition Streamlining Act. The simplified acquisition procedures in FAR Part 13 will be used for purchases between the micropurchase threshold of $2,500 and $100,000. As of August 14, 1995, request for quotation in this price range will be issued over the Federal Acquisition Computer Network (FACNET) for supplies and equipment and some services, to the maximum extent practicable. After October 1, 1995, all responses to FACNET Solicitations (RFQ'S), issued by Census Procurement Division, must be submitted through FACNET, unless otherwise authorized.
