S.W., Washington, DC 20547 70 -- AUTOMATED/REMOTE CONTROL SYSTEM FOR TV CAMERAS SOL
IA2102-S6244635 DUE 110395 POC Kristine M. Muschette, Contract
Specalist, 202-205-9467 Provide a system for the automated/remote
control of certain USIA's television cameras used in connection with
the acquisition and production of broadcast oriented television
programming for its global, satellite-delivered, 24 hour-per-day
television networks. The automated/remote control system would allow
remote, re-programmed as well as non-programmed real time primary and
secondary camera control (panning and tilting; zooming and focusing),
as well as control of such camera functions as Iris and black level of
Government furnished broadcast type television cameras. The
automated/remote system's control of designated ceiling-mounted and
wall-mounted cameras would be available from at least two physical
locations (WORLDNET studio area and the WORLDNET transmission center
area). The automated/remote systems initial requirement is for control
of three television cameras (one in each of the two WORLDNET
television production studios and one remotely located at the U.S.
Department of State), with provision for control of additional remotely
located cameras, as well as more complex camera control (dollying and
trucking movements) associated with floor-operated pedestal type
cameras, should this be deemed necessary at a future date. The
automated/remote control system must provide for routine
pre-programming camera movements necessary for day-to-day
teleproduction tasks, as well as for intervention by a human operator
to accommodate unplanned subject movement or for the purpose of
establishing a more advantageous or technically creative camera view.
Request for a copy of this solicitation shall be in writing to Kristine
Muschette at the address shown above. This procurement is contingent
upon availability of FY'96 funds. All responsible sources may submit an
offer which shall be considered. (0228) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0393 19950817\70-0003.SOL)
