CEWES-CT-C, 3909 Halls Ferry Road, Vicksburg, MS 39180- 6199 A -- DEVELOP REVISED HISTORICAL SHORELINE CHANGE MAP FOR GULF OF
MEXICO. POC Sandy Staggs, 601-634-3698 The USAE Waterways Experiment
Station (WES) proposes to award a contract to Louisiana State
University, Baton Rouge, Louisiana for producing a new color map
summarizing the best present state of knowledge of historic shoreline
change rates for the United States portion of the Gulf of Mexico. This
new map will constitute a significant revision of a similar map
produced several years ago. Several years ago, the Louisiana Geological
Survey (LGS), Louisiana State University, produced a similar product
based on the best data available at that time. The product was well
accepted and utilized on a Gulf-wide basis. Since that time,
significant new sources of data and information have become available
and it has become essential that a new map be produced based on the
present state of knowledge. The prior knowledge and experience obtained
by the LGS producing the earlier product must be applied to this new
product, as failure to do so could generate significant disconnects in
data for geographic regions that more properly should undergo little
change. Louisiana State University is the only source that possesses by
virtue of the previous work partial products and information applicable
to this procurement. If no other sources are found, the Government
intends to award a contract to Louisiana State University under the
authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1). Solicitation documents are not
available. Any inquiries should be within 15 days from date of
publication of this notice. See numbered Note 22. (0228) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0002 19950817\A-0002.SOL)
