202-647-8018, FAX 202-647-8333. The U.S. Arms Control and Disarmament
Agency (ACDA) is seeking potential sources to supply inspection
equipment for evaluation and use in training of inspectors. The U.S.
Government has been notified that the Provisional Technical Secretariat
(PTS), predecessor to the Technical Secretariat of the Organization for
the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, is still in the process of
procuring inspection equipment for the evaluation and use in training
of inspectors. Following are outstanding items of equipment that the
PTS is seeking: Tape measures; calipers and steel rule; seals (fiber
optic and packages); seals (frangible, fractural, adhesive); seal tool;
binoculars; datascope; compass; tags/markers (permanent,
non-destructive); Thermochromatic tape packages; sample collection kit;
power transformer/stabilizer; generators; tool kit; flashlight
(explosion proof); first aid kits (personal); safety lantern;
flammability/explosive monitor; boots (reusable); chemical casualty
treatment kit; advanced trauma life support kit; general first aid kit;
personal water filter kit; wet bulb globe thermometer; safety glasses;
patient monitor; computer (notebook/printer); portable fax machines;
maintenance tool kit. The PTS has requested that each Member State
identify potential companies interested in supplying such equipment.
Upon receipt of names of interested companies, the PTS will send
requested for tender (AFT) to any of the suppliers who respond by
September 11, 1995. Because this information could be considered
commercially sensitive, all responses will be classified as
confidential by the PTS and will be treated accordingly. Interested
companies must answer a questionnaire providing company and product
information and return it to the PTS in The Hague, The Netherlands by
September 11. Packages containing the questionnaire and specific
information about equipment needed by the PTS can be obtained by
contracting Mary Fannin (202) 647-8018; FAX (202) 647-8333. Please
note: This is the fourth anouncement (the first was published August
26, 1994; the second November 9, 1994; and the third March 22, 1995)
