Provide and install a solar powered collection system, to provide a renewable electrical energy supply for the airfield lighting system at Ascension Island, South Atlantic. The solar system will consist of photovoltaic arrays and inverter with a minimum output capacity of 80 Kilowatt (KW), with required electrical switch-gear, wiring, controls, enclosure/control building and foundations. Options may include batteries and charging arrays to provide up to 8 hours of energy storage capacity. Solar collection system shall have controls allowing its operation parallel with an existing diesel-fueled prime power plant. Construction time is 540 calendar days after Notice to Proceed. Bid Opening is tentatively scheduled for 16 Oct 95. The applicable SIC CODE for this acquisition is 1731 and SMALL BUSINESS SIZE STANDARD is $7.0M. Estimated range of this project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000.
