The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, China Lake, California, intends to obtain sources for a miniature, low insertion loss, high-reliability, low power, microwave, magnetic switches for applications in 50 Ohm stripline circuits. End-use is in airborne avionics in a MIL-E-5400 Class II environment with a maximum random vibration of 70 GRMS applied directly to the devices. Maximum continuous Radio Frequency power is plus 33 dBm, and maximum Voltage Standing Wave Ratio (VSWR) less than or equal to 1.5:1 over the frequency range of 2 to 18 Giga Hertz (Ghz). One of two input-to-output states (default states) is maintained by integral magnets when DC power is absent. When DC power is applied and maintained, the switches assume the opposite state. Two configurations are required. A transfer switch (terminates whichever of the two inputs is not switched to the Radio Frenquency output port), and a Single Pole Double Throw (SPDT) switch. Minimum isolation for the transfer switch is greater than or equal to 55 dBm, and for the Single Pole Double Throw (SPDT) switch is greater than or equal to 45 dBm.
