notification is being circulated in accordance with Article 10.6.

under Article 2.9.2. 4. Products covered (HS or CCCN where applicable,
otherwise national tariff heading. ICS numbers may be provided in
addition, where applicable): Light duty diesel engine vehicles (HS
Chapter 8703). 5. Title and number of pages of the notified document:
TIS 1285-2538 (1995): Standard for Light Duty Diesel Engined Vehicles:
Safety Requirements; Emission form Engine, Level 2 (17 pages). 6.
Description of content: Specifies limits for gaseous pollutants emitted
from light duty engined vehicles conforming to TIS 1140 at a more
intensely strict level (level 2) applicable to vehicles of all
capacities, and adds requirements on particulate pollutants and
durability of pollution control device. Includes marking and labelling,
sampling and criteria for conformity, and testing. 7. Objective and
rationale: Safety requirement and environmental protection. 8. Relevant
documents: Economic Commission for Europe Regulation No. 83 01 Series
of Amendments (E.C.E.R. 83-01). Will appear in the Government Gazette
when adopted. 9. Proposed date of adoption and entry into force: 31
