B -- COLLECT, ORGANIZE AND ANALYZE MARINE MAMMAL DATA SOL WASC-5-2480 DUE 092295 POC Angela Hunter, Voice (206) 526-6041/FAX (206) 526-6025 The National Marine Mammal Laboratory intends to procure services to collect, organize and analyze marine mammal/bioacoustic date related to NMML's joint program with the Navy's IUSS Program for the detection, tracking and population assessmant of whales in the Northeast Pacific. The vendor shall be required to provide logistic support and expedite IUSS field research; assist NMML personnel with collection of biopsy samples and photographs of cetaceans; assist NMML personnel with the collection of cetacean acoustic recordings in Alaska and Mexico for IUSS sound library; assist in the development of an on-site NMML acoustic workshop; help organize and computerize the research museum acoustic and osteological collections; help prepare information collected for development of annual reports/internal documents to be submitted to DOD summarizing work related to the Navy's IUSS program; and carry out preliminary research and development of satellite tags for killer whales.
