an order for the renewal of a full text dial-up information retrieval
service that provide access and data retrieval electronically. The
service must provide legal, tax, financial, and similar professional
information for the Thrift Depositor Protection (TDP) Oversight Board.
The selected source must provide full text, dial-up retrieval
professional information. At a minimum, the information should be based
on periodicals, newspapers, magazines, government data, wire service
files, newsletters, and similar professional sources on issues that
includes U.S. and international trade and business, financial and
business by company, intellectual property and banking, automated data
processing, management, and biographical technologies, environment and
energy science and medicine, advertising and public relations,
accounting and commodities. The service must also provide tax law
information to include state and federal case law, related statutory
and regulatory materials, Internal Revenue Service releases and
publications, and law school and legal association publications. The
service must also include the U.S. Code of federal laws and state laws
in a codified format. In order to meet this information requirement,
the TDP Oversight Board intends to renew services for Lexis-Nexis full
text dial-up information retrieval service from Lexis-Nexis, Inc. The
period of performance for this service is October 1, 1995, through
June 30, 1996. The TDP Oversight Board will contract for the service
through the Library of Congress, FEDLINK, under an interagency
agreement. Written responses, including prices and descriptions
containing sufficient technical documentation to establish a bona fide
capability to meet the requirement must be received by this office
within fifteen (15) calendar days after publication of this notice. No
contract award will be made on the basis of any responses to this
notice. Publication of this notice will be considered solely for the
purpose of determining whether to issue a competitive procurement. A
synopsis of intent to place an order shall not be considered a request
