R -- MAINFRAME SYSTEMS PROGRAMMING SUPPORT Sol D1214-95-0014. Contact Point, Nanette S. Young, 817/288-9727, Procurement Specialist. PRC, Inc., as prime contractor for the U.S. Army Test and Experimentation Command (TEXCOM), Texcom Data Center, intends to exercise a firm fixed price contract with the best qualified company which can provide the most comprehensive mix of labor and technical knowledge to support an IBM 4381 Mainframe system. Period of performance shall be a total of 1 base period (1 Oct 95 - 30 Dec 95) and 1 Option Period (31 Dec 95 - 30 Mar 96). The Option period will only be initiated if Government requirements remain the same as the Base Period requirements. Systems programming support will include the following: maintain and update IBM 4381 operating systems; provide install and validate configuration modification; apply operating system and program product maintenance; assess need for disk compressions; accomplish design and documentation of data requirements, system test and implementation plans, and system demonstration; assess any anomalies and determine whether or not different configuration of software would be more suitable; review computer software systems and data requirements and recommend operating systems and languages to support them; provide and maintain documentation. Normal work schedule will be 0730L - 1130L and 1230L and 1630L for up to twenty-four (24) hours per week. Responses other than the above source may identify their interest and capability to meet the requirement. To be considered an affirmative response, vendors must submit data to demonstrate their ability to monitor, maintain and implement the required functions related to the IBM 4381. Affirmative written responses referencing the above SOL must be received no later than 10 days after publication of this synopsis. A determination by the Contractor not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contractor.
