not a Solicitation. Therefore, there is NO need to respond in wri ting
with refernece to this CBD notice for bidders mail ing list purposes.
The program executive Officer-tactical wheeled vehicles, project
manager for heavy tactical vehicles office is in search of sources to
satisfy a re quirement for a material handling Crane to be integrated
onto the M984 heavy expanded mobility tactical truck (HEMTT). This
vehicle will be called the contingency Fo RCE recovery vehicle (cfrv).
The cfrv will be a key Ele Ment in the recovering of the contingency
force'S light tracked vehicles. The contingency forces currently
equipped with the M551 Sheridan and future forces equipped with the
armored gun system need the capability to safe Ly recover these and
other light to medium weight syste MS up to 30 tons. The Crane lift
requirement shall be: A. Lift a minimum of: 7607 pounds at 12 feet, 8
inches (level I turret-gun tube & Mount), with lifts of: 9449 pounds at
12 feet, 8 inches (level I turret-gun tube),10,800 lbs at 12 feet, 8
inches and 13,119 lbs at 13 feet, 0 inches increasingly desired; B.
Lift the load TOA height of 74 inches (bottom of the turret when
liftedwill be 74 inches in height; turret is 42 inches high so top of
the turret will need to be 116 inches in height); C. Traverse the load
(turret) through 100 degrees ( with rotation through 360 degrees
desired); D. Be capab le of remote Operations. The project office is
seeking sources for a new Crane to be integrated onto the HEMTT and
requesting comments from sources on the following: Manufacturer'S
name-address-phone number-point of contact, Crane Model number, Crane'S
performance characteristics, support system that is in place, does the
Crane have a national Stock number (NSN), and weight of the Crane. A
draft performance specification and a HEMTT truck will be made
available to potential contractors for review purposes at a later date
to be determined. It is requested that potential sources provide the
above info rmation to the POC by October 27, 1995. For technical
