Holmgren (309)782-4836. The armament and chemical acquisition and
logistics activity (ACALA) at Rock Island is conducting a Market survey
to identify PO tential sources for non-developmental item(S) (NDI)
and/or technol ogies which could be considered as anti-reflection
devices for select battlefield optical devices. This Market survey is
in conjuntionwith an FY96 funded U. S. Army soldier enhancement program
(Sep) be ing managed by the product manager for small arms (PM small
arms) called the anti-reflection device (Ard) program. Proposed optical
systems earmarked for possible anti-reflection devices include them22
binoculars, M24 sniper Day scope, XM144 spotting telescope, XM24
minibinoculars, and the XM25 stabilized binoculars. The
desiredcharacteristics/features for these anti-reflection device(S)
are: 1) to eliminate or substantially reduce visible objective
lens/windowglint/glare; 2) when attached to the supported optical
device, theard(S) will not appreciably degrade or impact optical
performance (I.E. Light transmission, optical resolution, and Field of
view) of the system; 3) can be easily attachable/removable by a
soldier from the supported optical device; 4) requires NO special tools
by the soldier in the Field for attachment or detachment; 5) will not
re-quire physical modification of the supported optical system; 6) can
reasonably perform in a typical battlefield environment; and 7) can be
manufactured, procured, and fielded at a reasonable COST relative to
the device It supports. Responses should consist of Company name,
address, point of contact, telephone number, FAX telephone number,
description of item(S) which may satisfy the requirement, and
companybrochures/literature regarding contractor capability. Interested
companies are encouraged to submit at least two (2) copies of their
response (including Company/product brochures and related literature)
and IDEAS, in accordance with Note 25, to ACALA, Attn: AMSTA-AC-PCF-a,
Linda Maes, Rock Island, IL 61299-7630. This Market survey does not
constitute the Solicitation of proposals. Partic-ipation in this Market
survey effort will not affect a Compay'S PO-sition during any follow-up
Solicitation. All information should be submitted within 30 days from
the date of publication of this notice to the address above. The
Government does not intend to award a con Tract on the basis of this
Market survey or otherwise pay for any in formation provided. NO basis
for claims against the Government shall arise as a result of a
response to this Market survey of Government use of such information.
The Government reserves the right to reject, in whole or in part, any
Private sector input as a result of this Market survey. As stated
previously, this Market survey does not constitute the Solicitation of
proposals. In addition, business type and size must be identified. See
