COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF OCTOBER 3,1995 PSA#1444HSC/YAK, 8107 13TH STREET, BROOKS AFB TX 78235-5218 99 -- RECYCLING AND TREATMENT OF ABRASIVE PAINT REMOVAL RESIDUES POC
Mr. John R. Guerra, Contract Specialist, (210) 536-4570; Ms Julie
Erwin, Contracting Officer, (210) 536-6342. Information regarding
sources is being sought for Commercial Capabilities for Recycling and
Treatment of Abrasive Paint Removal Residues. Seeking commercial
capabilities with technologies and systems to recycle and/or treat
abrasive blast residues resulting from paint removal. The Residues from
the blast media include agricultural, garnet, glass and plastic
material with oxides of heavy metals found in corrosion resistive
paints. Source should be capable of performing recycling and treatment
technology that are safe, cost effective and minimize residual
liability by rendering the residue non-harzardous. Technologies and
systems must be capable of meeting EPA operating permit requirements,
including non-attainment areas. Technologies should not generate
additional waste streams requiring further treatment by other
processes. Information on the system should include (1) system
description for applicability to residues; (2) description of how the
system will meet or has met permitting requirements; (3) treatment
efficacy e.g. TCLP data demonstrating the waste are rendered
non-harzardous; (4) life cycle cost estimates; (5) maturity of the
technology employed; (6) throughput capabilities; and (7)
infrastructure requirements. Responses and non-technical questions
concerning this acquisition to HSC/YAK, ATTN: John R. Guerra, 8107 13th
