Advanced Missile System-Heavy (AMS-H). The Government has a revised
AMS-H specification located in the Redstone Scientific Information
Center (RSIC) reading room, Building 4484, Redstone Arsenal, AL.
Lethality: The Lethality requirements in Annex A have been revised
based on Government lethality estimates that show initial RFI
requirements can not be met. Technologies do exist that will allow the
AMS-H missile to meet the new requirements from minimum to maximum
range. Fire and Forget Mode: The Government will require that the AMS-H
missile have fire and forget as the default mode of engagement. A set
of targets and background sciences in data format which are within the
AMS-H range of specified targets will be provided in the AMS-H reading
room. Alternate Mode: Because of battlefield situations and natural
phenomena, the AMS-H missile will be required to have an alternate mode
which will give the soldier the capability to kill targets which can be
acquired with the platform DVO or CCD TV but cannot be engaged in the
fire and forget mode. Examples (pictures and/or descriptions) will be
provided in the AMS-H reading room. Response to this reading room
announcement is on a voluntary basis and failure to respond will not
impact any future acquisitions. The Government is not liable for any
