70 -- HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE SOL 8-W-5-10-05711 POC Contact GP24M/Glynda H. Meeks, Contract Specialist, 205-544-0422, or GP24M/Jane Maples, Contracting Officer This notice constitutes Amendment No. 1 to the RFQ for Hardware and Software -- Companies shall acknowledge the amendment(s) in their quote -- The purpose of this amendment is to: 1) amend the specifications, 2) answer question(s) that were received, and 3) extend the due date for receipt of quotes -- The specification is amended by adding the following: Item 3 - NOTE: Existing NKK Magneto-optical (MO) jukebox may be provided as government furnished equipment (GFE) in order to insure that the MO related software will drive the MO jukebox -- The following is the official response to questions received: -- Question 1 - Is installation of the Jukebox required? - Is installation of the Tracer software required? -- Answer 1 - Installation at MSFCof the Jukebox and software is not required; however, demonstration that the CD related software will drive the CD jukebox and the MO related software will drive our existing MO jukebox is required. It should be noted by prospective vendors that this requirement for the existing MO jukebox may very well involve more than simply shipping pre-packaged software items. That is, reconfiguration of the MO driver portion of the software may be involved -- Question 2 - Would including a price for software for each operating system (Sun OS 4.1.3 and Solaris 2.4) be acceptable? -- Answer 2 - A price for the Solaris operating system is sufficient with an assurance that a SunOS version exists and is supported. The intent is not to run concurrent versions, but to maintain compatibility between SunOS and Solaris as various Unix machines are running oneor the other. The Tracer software is to be installed on a Sun Sparc 2 Unix workstation running the Solaris 2 operating system -- The due date for receipt of quotes is extended until October 23, 1995 -- Companies shall provide information as stated in the synopsis/RFQ published on September 28, 1995 -- Documents related to this procurement are available over the Internet -- The documents are in ASCII format and reside on a World-Wide Web (WWW) server, whichmay be accessed using client browers, such as, MOSAIC -- The WWW address, or URL of the MSFC Procurement home page is: ''http://procure.msfc.nasa.gov''.
