The Navy has scheduled a briefing on its TAC-X Standards-based Acquisition Initiative to be held October 25, 1995 at the Crystal Gateway Marriott Hotel, 1700 S. Eads Street, Arlington, VA from 9:00 - 11:00 am. TAC-X is an acquisition strategy (not a specific acquisition) promoting the use of commercial-based information technologies and practices built upon Department of the Navy approved standards and architecture profiles. TAC-X will establish an electronic catalog permitting on-line ordering. Through the TAC-X catalog, the Navy will make available a broad range of standards-compliant products and services to program managers and other Department of the Navy users.
