Research Projects Agency (ARPA), in cooperation with the US Department
of Justice, is seeking information regarding advanced Interactive
Simulation and Training technology. The Joint Program Steering Group
(JPSG) is the executive agent for a Congressionally mandated joint
DOJ/Department of Defense (DOD) project. The JPSG is resident at ARPA
and comprised of representatives from DOJ, the Army, and ARPA. The JPSG
is seeking information from industry and Government organizations with
near term technology that can provide advanced training capabilities
which can meet operational training needs in the areas of Operations
Other Than War (OOTW) and Law Enforcement (LE). A briefing to industry,
addressing the evolving operational training needs for the areas of
interest, will be held Wednesday, November 15, 1995 at 2:00 PM at the
Hyatt Regency Hotel in Albuqueque, NM. Interested parties are requested
to limit their attendance to two representatives. (This briefing will
be held in conjunction with the Inter-service/Industry Training Systems
and Education Conference (I/ITSEC) Nov 13-17). Those who wish to attend
the briefing should notify the POC listed above by fax. Seating is
limited, early notification of intent to attend is suggested. (5)
LISTING OF SCREENING CAPABILITIES Interested potential sources should
respond by providing information on the maturity, effectiveness, ease
of use, flexibility of applications, and cost of hardware and/or
software products that address this topic area. (6) LISTING OF OTHER
INFORMATION Potential sources should list persons from customer firms
or government agencies whom ARPA may contact to verify applicable work
experiences and performance. Firms should also cite their business
size status and, if qualified, as socially or economically
disadvantaged. (7) WHERE TO SUBMIT INFORM ATION: Potential sources
interested in documenting their capabilities to perform this work
should reference Sources Sought Announcement SS 95-XX in responding.
Documentation must be submitted to Mr. Trent DePersia, ARPA/TTO, 3701
N. Faifax Drive, Arlington, VA 22203-1714. (8) WHEN TO SUBMIT
INFORMATION: All capability documentation should be submitted not later
than 30 Nov 95 at 2:00 pm Eastern Time. (9) FORM FOR SUBMISSION OF
DOCUMENTATION (OPTIONAL) Offerors are invited to submit information
regarding applicable simulators/technologies. Offerors submissions may
include print and electronic media, including computer programs and
video tape. The government is not responsible for packaging or costs to
submit any information or documentation. (10) PROPRIETARY INFORMATION
NOTICE Potential sources are discouraged from submitting any
proprietary information, however, if a potential source elects to
submit proprietary information, it must be clearly marked and will be
held in strictest confidence. Restrictive notices notwithstanding,
information submitted may be handled, for administrative purposes, by
an ARPA support contractor. This contractor is prohibited from
competition in ARPA technical research on this topic area and is bound
by appropriate nondisclosure agreements. (11) NOTICE REGARDING
SOLICITATIONS This announcement is for information and planning
purposes only, and does not constitute a BAA, IFB or RFP. Nothing in
