The product will be used for software executing on a Power PC 1603 VME board (Motorola 603 CPU based) using Wind River's VxWorks real-time Operating System (OS). The GUI testing suite must provide a method of collecting user input (i.e., keyboard, mouse, touchscreen, etc.) and playing the user input data back into the system. The ease with which the collected user input data can be modified is a concern and should be addressed. Display data under test should be collected in bitmap and/or ASCII text level. A run-time or post process method of comparing collected display output is required. All testing is required to be as non-intrusive as possible, with no modification to any software suites (i.e., OS, MOTIF, X11R5, Applications, etc.). A solution offering no permanent modification to the Power PC 1603 or cabling is preferred. All data collection points must use taps with no termination of signals. A Unix or PC based system is preferred. If available, potential offerors are asked to address PCI bus monitoring that can be integrated into the GUI testing suite for run-time collection of additional data. For planning purposes, pricing information for the proposed solution is also requested.
