58 -- REQUIREMENT TO MODIFY THE U.S. ARMY OWNED AN/FPN-66 AIRPORT SURVEILLANCE RADAR POC J. Sue Acker, or Robert Peterson, Project Officers, (908)532-1911 or (908)532-1887. Sources sought for a requirement to modify up to nine (9) U.S. Army owned AN/FPN-66 Airport Surveillance Radar. This effort includes modifying the radar to provide full digital capability to include upgrading two (2) of the radars to 6 level weather capability. The digitization effort will include providing a National Airspace System (NAS) compatible output (CD2 or ASR-9 format) to allow future integration with the NAS Terminal Advanced Automation System (TAAS) while maintaining the current interfaces with existing automation and display systems. The required modifications and upgrade will be accomplished without degradation to existing radar performance. Wilcox Electric, Inc., 2001 N.E. 46th Street, Kansas City, MO 64116 is the only known source for this effort because technical data, plans drawings, and specifications are not available to the U.S. Army. Other contractors having the ability to furnish the above services are requested to give written notification (including the name and telephone number of the point of contact) to U.S. Army Aviation and Troop command, Product Manager, Air Traffic Control, ATTN: AMCPM-ATC-SM, Fort Monmouth, NJ 07703-5000 within fifteen (15) days from the date of this publication. Response should provide information regarding the ability of your company to satisfy the government's requirement. All responses to this market survey will be considered prior to further acquisition activity by the Government. Any information received as a result of this announcement will not be provided to other contractors and will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
