The U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Environmental Satellite, Data and Information Service (NESDIS), has a requirement to support its environmental satellite data processing activities. The level of support includes skilled staff, tools, and other resources needed to analyze, design, develop, maintain, and enhance the NESDIS automated information system. The services needed include: applications system design, analysis, programming, testing, implementation, and transition; system software implementation, maintenance and technical support; system hardware installation, maintenance and technical support; product assurance; project management; and other related goods and services. DOC is seeking comments on a DRAFT Request for Proposals (RFP). The DRAFT RFP is for information purposes only and should be issued in January, 1996. It is anticipated that industry will be allowed 15-21 calendar days for comment from date of issuance of the DRAFT RFP. The exact due date for responses will be included in the DRAFT RFP. The period of performance will be 10/01/96 through 9/30/97 plus option years. This solicitation is performance-based and an incentive type contract is anticipated.
