Bridgeport, Conn. 06604 Y -- PREFERRED DEVELOPER TO COMPLETE COMPREHENSIVE PLANNING AND
CONSTRUCTION OF LOW INCOME PUBLIC HOUSING The Housing Authority of the
City of Bridgeport is requesting proposals from qualified firms or
individuals to act as a Preferred Developer to complete the
comprehensive planning and construction of up to 412 units of low
income public housing, while investing their own resources or securing
other private resources to blend the low income public housing units
with other affordable and moderate housing units necessary to
revitalize depressed inner-city urban neighborhoods. The selected
Preferred Developer will be required to design, construct and/or
acquire all of the replacement units required under this solicitation,
and present to the Authority an outline of their replacement concept
to integrate the low income public housing units with other housing
types, specified vitalization in the City of Bridgeport (and as defined
by the City of Bridgeport's Consolidated Plan). Approximate bedroom
configurations based on 412 units (subject to change). 1 BR 97, 2 BR
33, 3 BR 182, 4 BR 62, 5 BR 13, 6 BR 25. Units consisting of four (4)
or more bedrooms must not be developed in clusters (in order to reduce
site density). The Preferred Developer must have the financial
capabilities and staff resources necessary to complete the required
task. Construction financing is available for the low income public
housing units. Further details are available for a $30.00
NON-refundable fee at the Housing Authority's Modernization Office, 150
Highland Avenue, Bridgeport, CT., Monday through Friday, 9:00 A.M. to
4:00 P.M. A Pre-Proposal Conference is scheduled for 10:00 A.M., on
December 15, 1995 and will be held at 150 Highland Avenue, Bridgeport,
Connecticut in the Community Room of the Authorities Administration
Building. Attendance is mandatory for proposal submission. All
proposals must be submitted by 4:00 p.m. on January 16, 1996 at the
Executive Office of The Housing Authority of the City of Bridgeport.
Proposals must be submitted in seven (7) copies in sealed envelopes
clearly labeled: ``Preferred Development Manager'', Attention: Mr.
