The work to be performed under this project involves the abatement of asbestos and replacement of asbestos containing materials on condensate pipe, steam and water pipes, steam pipe elbows, valves and other fittings in various locations of the two main buildings. The work is principally located in mechanical rooms and attic areas and is to be performed while the building remain in use at the Gainesville Job Corps Center located in Gainesville, Florida. Construction time is scheduled for 98 calendar days. The estimated cost range for construction is between $25,000 to $100,000. Plans and specifications will be available on December 20, 1995 from the office of Brame Poole Architects, 606 N.E. First Street, Gainesville, Florida 32601. It is emphasized that requests for plans and specifications shall be directed to the A/E firm listed above to ensure proper handling of request. All requests must be in writing. Plans and specifications are available for pick-up at the above-mentioned A/E's office. Requests will be answered on a first-come, first-serve basis until supplies are exhausted. For requests made after the supply is exhausted, the Contracting Officer may determine whether payment of a fee is warranted. The non-refundable fee shall not exceed the actual cost of duplication of the IFB documents, plus COD charges. A Pre-bid walk-through is scheduled for January 4, 1996, at 2:00 p.m. local time.
