This switch will operate in a make-before-break mode without interrupting the load, providing both normal and emergency sources are acceptable. When utility source fails, the switch initiated starting of the engine generator set and transfer the load to the emergency source in an open transition mode. When the utility source is restored for and acceptable time, the switch transfers back to the normal source without interrupting the loan (closed transition). An inphase monitor ensures that closed transition will occur only when the two sources are within +5 electrical degrees. Closed transition period shall not exceed 100 milliseconds.
