Z -- ELECTRICAL AND DATA SYSTEM MODIFICATIONS TO ACCOMMODATE THE RETROFIT OF EXISTING SYSTEMS FURNITURE AND THE INSTALLATION OF IWS/LAN EQUIPMENT Sol 9PXM-7-96C-0003. Due 010896. The contractor will begin work 15 days after award and complete in 45 days. The contractor shall provide all labor, material, equipment, and supervision necessary to modify the facility to meet the needs of the Social Security Administration's IWS/LAN installation. Electrical and data system modifications are needed to accommodate the retrofit of existing systems furniture and the installation of IWS/LAN equipment. Facility modifications will be in accordance with the included drawings and specifications. Facility modifications will, in general, include, but not be limited to, the following: Electrical System. Modification to the electrical distribution system capacity (panelboards and associated feeders). Modification to the electrical distribution system grounding to establish a true isolated ground system. Modifications to branch circuiting. Addition of general purpose and isolated ground receptacles. Electrical connections to the systems furniture. Removal of electrical devices and associated branch circuiting, feeders, etc. Data Systems. Provision of IBM Type 1A cable from the ADP Room to each IWS/LAN data outlet. Provision of IBM Type 1A cable, connectors, backboxes, and faceplates. Provision of balun assemblies. Labeling of all IBM Type 1A cables and balun assemblies. Removal of all RG62 A/U coaxial cable and associated data outlets (TAP-FOSE System). Scheduling and Coordinating. Prior to the retrofit of systems furniture by SSA's furniture contractor: Completion of all preparatory electrical and data cabling work. During the retrofit of the systems furniture: Completion of all electrical work including termination of flexible power whips. Verification that all receptacles are properly energized. Verification that all IBM Type 1A cables are properly installed with baluns as indicated and ready for connection to SSA's TAP-FOSE equipment. After SSA's TAP-FOSE equipment is operational via the IBM Type 1A cable: Removal of all RG62 A/U coaxial cables. (338)
