X -- DETENTION SERVICES (HOUSING, CARE AND SECURITY) FOR PRE-TRIAL PRISONERS IN THE SOUTHERN DISTRICT OF CALIFORNIA. SOL MS-96-R-0009 POC Cindy Suter, Contracting Officer, 202-307-9368. This synopsis provides a modification to an earlier synopsis issued under RFP number MS-96-R-0000. The U. S. Marshals Service seeks to obtain a pre-trial dentention services contract for the housing of approximately 320 (maximum) and 256 (minimum) pre-trial Federal prisoners in support of the Southern District of California. It is anticipated that contract award will take place on or about February 1, 1996. Services will begin approximately 30 days after contract award. Services required include the management and operation of a Government owned/Contractor operated physical plant (Miramar Naval Air Station Brig) and the total operation, security and management of the inmate population. The contractor shall operate the facility in compliance with the most recent standards for adult detention facilities promulgated by the American Correctional Association (ACA) as well as all local, State and Federal code requirements for a correctional facility. Interested parties are advised the U.S. Marshals Service has established a definitive responsibility criterion requiring all offerors to have verifiable experience operating a pre-trial institution in the United States continuously during the last three years. The contract term shall be for a firm one year with a possibility of one option period. The duration of the option period may be 6 to 12 months. Prospective offerors are advised the U.S. Marshals Service anticipates conducting a site visit between December 20, 1995 and January 5, 1996. Attendance at the site visit will be restricted to attendees who have registered in advance in accordance with the RFP instructions. All responsible sources meeting the definitive responsibility criterion outlined above may requrst a copy of the RFP. Requestes for a copy of the RFP should be made in writing to the Contracting Officer at the address listed above. Telephonic requests for RFPs will not be accepted. Interested firms who previously requested a copy of the RFP need not submit a second request. (0339)
