FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF CONSTRUCTION CONTRACTS TO CORRECT LIFE SAFETY

Architect-Engineer services are required for the implementation of the
Life Safety Plan of action provided by separate contract. The Federal
Correctional Institution at Fairton, NJ and the Metropolitan
Correctional Center, NY, NY plans will require evaluation of facility
life safety systems affecting fire separation, access, sprinkler, smoke
and fire detection and alarm systems. The A/E will provide bid
documents to correct system deficiencies and provide studies of the
existing sprinkler and alarm detection systems, generating as-built
documents. The A/E will provide system testing to determine system
compliance with NFPA code and/or a correction plan for meeting the
required code compliance. The report, provided by separate contract,
lists areas of the above that require expansion, renovation, revision
and repairs. The construction cost for each institution is estimated to
be between $250,000.00 and $500,000.00. The estimated performance
period of the resultant contract is 725 calendar days. The evaluation
criteria for selection and contract award, in descending order of
relative importance, are as follows: (1) Proposed project team and
organization; (2) Comparable experience and performance; (3) Capability
and capacity; (4) past performance on contracts for Government agencies
and/or private industry projects; (5) Knowledge of locality; and, (6)
Proximity to project. Only those firms residing in the States of New
Jersey or New York, and have the capability to perform the services
described herein, are requested to submit appropriate date within 30
calendar days (4:00PM EST) from the initial publication date of this
announcement. Applicant responses to the aforementioned evaluation
criteria shall use initial evaluation of qualifications. The data
submitted shall be concise and must address all specific categories
listed in the evaluation criteria. A firm-fixed price contract will
result from this acquisition. The Standard Industrial Classification
Code is 8712, with a size standard of $2,500,000.00. This is not a
