Kline, Contract Specialist, (217)352-6511 ext. 7493, or Mr. Wayne T. Kurokawa, Contracting Officer, (217)373-6748. The U.S. Army Construction Engineering Research Laboratories (USACERL) requires software maintennance, software enhancement and support for the Modular Design System (MDS). This software system was developed by the U.S. Army Reserve and National Guard to provide a flexible standard design capability for the Army Reserve/National Guard Facilities. The U.S. Army, with USACERL as the technical program manager, intends to expand MDS to support a much wider range of facilities than the current training facilities it was designed to support. MDS can substantially reduce the delivery time and improve the quality of all documents in the facility delivery process from the DD1391 through construction documents. MDS' software structure is composed of an MDS-Core Application Programming Interface, Engineering Discipline modules, and Facility Application Programs. The current version of MDS only has one application program, Training Facilities, but it is applicable to as many as 90% of the facilities constructed within DoD. Successful bidder will expand the MDS software to other facilities types and will be required to provide responsive technical support to a limited number of test sites using MDS. MDS is used within MicroStation 5.0 and is written in the MDL programing language. Services to be provided will be accomplished through a fixed price indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract with a maximum ceiling of $4,000,000 over the life of the contract and a maximum delivery order limitiation of $500,000. The contract will include a basic year and three option years. Request for Proposal (RFP) No. DACA88-96-R-0006 will be issued on or about 16 Jan 96 with the closing date of on or about 01 Mar 96. Requests for this solicitation shall be made in writing and addressed to USACERL, Attn: Contracts Office, P.O. Box 9005, Champaign, IL 61826-9005. There will be no telephone requests accepted. Requests for solicitation package maybe submitted via facsimile at (217)3736773. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the Government. (0345)
