(JSF)/Joint Advanced Strike Technology (JAST) Program intends to
competively award two contracts in FY97 for the weapons system concept
demonstration program. The principal objective is to demonstrate, to
a low level of technical risk for entering E&MD, those critical
technologies, processes, and system characteristics necessary to
produce an affordable family of strike fighter aircraft that meets U.S.
Air Force, U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, and Royal Navy needs. A full
and open competition will be held. A Request For Information was
published under synopsis number 20167 in October 1995. Sections of the
draft RFP will be provided on a 3.5 inch computer disk only in
Microsoft Word. Requests for the draft RFP must be made in writing to
Ms Patricia Gibson, at the JSF/JAST Program Office, 1745 Jefferson
Davis Highway, Suite 307, Arlington, VA 22202 or by fax to (703)
602-0593. The draft RFP will be available for pickup or mailing on or
about December 18. The draft RFP has classified attachments. To obtain
these documents, contact Mr. Peter van de Gohm, at (703) 602-7390,
ext. 6654, in writing no later than 12 January 1996. Comments and
questions should be directed to Ms. Gibson in writing no later than 12
January 1996. A pre-solicitation conference is scheduled for 29
January 1996; details about the conference are included in the package
to be released. The final RFP is currently scheduled for release on or
