COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF DECEMBER 20,1995 PSA#1494US Government Printing Office, North Capitol & H Street, NW, Attn:
Larry P Vines, Room B104, Stop: PPSB, Washington, DC 20401 T -- PRINTING (MAILER) Contact Point, Richard Weiss, 202-512-0307, or
fax 202-512-1368. Request for information. The Social Security
Administration is seeking new construction options to produce a 6
and/or 8 page mailer. It is anticipated at this time that the annual
production beginning in January 1998 will be for 20 million pieces,
with increases to approximately 120 million pieces annually by the year
2000. Mailer is currently being produced as a 2-color, 25-1/2 x 11''
flat base form that is then imaged with up to 88 lines of variable data
in addition to 8 lines of address information. All imaging is presently
being done on one side only. After imaging, mailer folds to 11 x
8-1/2'' (three equal panels) and then to 3-2/3 x 8-1/2'' for insertion
into a window envelope. New layout and/or production options will be
considered for a 6 and/or 8 page 8-1/2 x 11'' mailer. Imaging of
variable data will be required on 3 or 4 of the pages. Changes to
paper, overall mailer size, layout and mailing may be proposed. Mailer
without envelope will be acceptable provided mailer is sealed after
folding (tab or glue) in order to insure privacy. Total weight or
complete mailing piece must be 1 ounce or less in order to minimize
postage costs. Please respond by February 2, 1996. Samples of current
mailer and envelope are available upon request. (352) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0080 19951219\T-0003.SOL)
