The Department of Defense (DoD) will be conducting a series of ``DoD Thrust Program'' Conference/Workshops for small businesses, women-owned businesses and Historically Black Colleges and Universities and Minority Institutions in various cities throughout the United States. The Thrust Program focuses on the following industries: environmental, manufacturing, health care, telecommunications, and management information systems/simulation. The objective is to provide increased DoD contracting opportunities. Each conference will be hosted by a designated Military Department or Defense Agency. The first conference will be held on 21-23 January 1996 at the Radisson Plaza Hotel at Mark Center in Alexandria Virginia. This conference will be hosted by the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). Additional conferences are planned for in 1996 in: Boston, Chicago, Columbus, Los Angeles, Orlando, San Antonio, and St. Louis. The cities selected represent major market concentration for DoD executive agent activities responsible for managing the functional area. Prime contractors representing substantial markets in the industry areas will be invited to participate.
