Scope of work: The work at the Bridgeport CT P&DF consists of three major tasks: Abatement of lead paint on specified surfaces where paint is peeling and where surface preparation is required. Painting and general surface preparation of all previously painted surfaces, including ceilings (and floors where shown) in the Main Work Rooms and adjacent work and employees spaces (approximately) 45,000 s.f. of building floor area on two levels.) Installation of duct wrapping on exposed HVAC ducts in the work areas. The Painting Contractor shall also be a Connecticut licensed lead abatement contractor. The Contractor shall perform the work while the building is occupied and shall cooperate with the United States Postal Service in scheduling work to minimize conflict with USPS operations and usage. Offeror must be experienced as a painting contractor, possess a license for lead abatement and must have satisfactorily completed at least three (3) projects of similar size and scope. (A copy of the lead abatement license is to be provided at the time of submission.) A preproposal conference has been scheduled for February 23, 1996 at 11:00 am at the Bridgeport CT P&DF, 120 Middle Street, Bridgeport CT 06602-9998. The estimated price range is between $100,000 and $160,000 with completion required within 150 calendar days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed.
