The estimated cost of this project is between $25,000 and $100,000. SIC code is 1542. The work includes the demolition of 80 lf of gypsum/stud wall; removal of 150 lf of 5/8'' paneling on furring strips, installing new doors, associated electrical work, constructing new walls, installing new carpet and acoustical ceiling, painting and incidental related work. The work is divided into two (2) phases with each phase having 14 calendar days to complete. All work must be completed by May 15, 1996. Solicitation Packages to be available on or about February 29, 1996 and require a $20.00 non-refundable fee for each set. Checks shall be made payable to the U.S. Coast Guard. The due date for receipt of quotes will be on or about March 15, 1996. This project is issued using Simplified Acquisition Procedures and pursuant to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program, and is unrestricted. THE FOLLOWING NOTICE IS PROVIDED AS INFORMATION FOR MINORITY, WOMEN-OWNED, AND DISADVANTAGED BUSINESS ENTERPRISES: The Dept of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, payment and performance bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are available under the DOT Short-term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The max. line of credit is $500,000.
