13 -- PRODUCTION OF AN/SLQ-48 MISSION PACKAGE THREE (MP-3) SOL N00024-96-R-6335 POC John C. Piunno, Code: 02631A, Contract Speclialist, 703-602-0951. The Naval Sea Systems Command is soliciting proposals for the third mission package for the AN/SLQ-48(V) Mine Neutralization System. Mission Package 3 (MP-3) is launched, transported, deployed, and under certain circumstances, recovered by the Mine Neutralization Vehicle (MNV). Both Mine Countermeasures (MCM-1) and Coastal Minehunter (MHC-51) Class Ships will be equipped with MP-3 systems to perform mine neutralization. This procurement involves production of an explosive destructor (Mk 57 Mod 1), bomblet float (Mk 31 Mod 0), extension arm ballast section (Mk 2 Mod 0), a cable gripping release (Mk 52 Mod 0) (CGR), positioning float frame (Mk 6 Mod 0), and positioning float (Mk 30 Mod 0). Production and handling of PBXN-103 explosive material is required for the performance of this contract. Only written requests received directly from the requestor are acceptable. Responses should include a brief synopsis of capabilities and past experience. This synopsis is not a request for proposal and in no way binds the Government to award a contract. Only responsible sources who are currently certified to handle explosives may submit a request to be considered a prime contractor for this procurement. This request must be in writing and include a copy of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms Explosive User Permit. The Contractor must submit this request to Mr. John C.
