20375-5326 A -- LOW COST ATTITUDE CONTROL SYSTEM HARDWARE FOR SPACECRAFT DEVELOP-
MENT PROGRAMS SOL N00014- POC Code 8210. The Naval Research Laboratory
(NRL) is seeking sources to provide low cost attitude control system
hardware for various spacecraft development programs. NRL is interested
in companies with the capability to provide any of the following
hardware: star trackers, inertial reference units, GPS units, reaction
wheels, control moment gyros, torque rods, sun sensors, horizon
sensors, magnetometers, and thrusters. Specific interests include .005
to .5 N-m and .2 to 10 N-m-s2 class reaction wheels, 1 to 20-N-m class
control moment gyros, and 10 to 100 A-m2 class torque rods. NRL
requests each respondent to provide product performance, size, weight,
and power requirements as well as development timelines and
non-recurring and recurring costs for any of the specific technologies
described above. In addition, a summary of qualifications and previous
development experience should be included. Respondees are also
encouraged to include information regarding ''cutting edge''
technologies and hardware in any stage of development. Responses shall
include two copies of the requested information, are due no later than
45 days after the issue date of this synopsis, and should be no longer
than 15 pages per copy. NRL recognizes the need to protect proprietary
information. Restricted or proprietary data must be clearly marked and
presented as an addendum to the non-restricted response to this
request. Any and all proprietary data shall be protected and will not
be released without the expressed approval of the source. This request
is for planning purposes and supports ongoing development activities
in spacecraft programs. This request shall not be construed as a
request for proposal (RFP), in Invitation for Bids (IFB), or as an
obligation on the part of the Government to acquire any follow on
capabilities. The Government does not intend, at this time, to award a
contract or otherwise pay for the information provided. No entitlement
to payment of direct costs or charges by the Government will arise as
a result of submissions of responses. Any procurement will be
separately synopsized in the Commerce Business Daily. Send information
