COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF FEBRUARY 22,1996 PSA#1536U.S. Army Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory, 72 Lyme
Road, Hanover, NH 03755-1290 66 -- ORGANIC SOLVENT EXTRACTION SYSTEM POC Contract Specialist,
Mitchell Gasbarra, (603) 646-4795, Contracting Officer, Charles
Zdunczyk, (603) 646-4324. The U.S. Army Cold Regions Research and
Engineering Laboratory is seeking information regarding specifications
and availability of an organic solvent extraction system, similar or
equivalent to a Dionex ASE 200 Accelerated Solvent Extractor. The
system should be capable of extracting organic compounds from soils,
sediments, and other diverse environmental matrices. The proposed
system should also address the following specifications: 1) multiple
sample loading and unattended operation during extraction of samples;
2) readily sealed sample cells; 3) capability to extract various sizes
(mass) of samples and to minimize solvent use; 4) compatibility with
organic and aqueous solvents; 5) rapid extraction times; 6) ability to
readily alter, store, retrieve and run numerous extraction protocols
that vary in heating, mass, time, pressure, number of sequences and
other extraction parameters; 7) ability to readily interface with
computer or data acquisition devices; 8) safety features to account for
leakage, over-exposure, excessive temperature; 9) automatic collection
of extraction solvent into vials; 10) automatic rinsing; 11)
documented record of successful applications; and 12) documented
instrument ruggedness during normal laboratory use. Responses may be
sent to the attention of the contract specialist, Mitchell Gasbarra,
who may be reached at (603) 646-4795 (voice) or (603) 646-4486
(facsimile). (047) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0449 19960221\66-0015.SOL)
