Zangwill, (301)443-2750 The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) is soliciting proposals from qualified organizations having the capability to operate and maintain the Scientific Registry of Transplant Recipients (''Registry'') as required by Section 373 of the Public Health Service Act. Key tasks to be performed include: 1) collect and validate all data on solid organ transplants in a computerized system relevant and necessary for the ongoing evaluation of the clinical and scientific status of organ transplantation; 2) maintain a Scientific Affairs Committee to advise the contractor on scientific and technical matters, including the method for evaluating non-government data requests, the electronic and information exchange needs of entities submitting data to the Scientific Registry, and the methodology and reporting requirements for an annual data report; 3) collect, validate and report center-specific patient and graft survival rates; 4) provide a national resource for basic and clinical data for research on transplantation; 5) collect, validate and report Organ Procurement Organization (OPO)-specific data; 6) provide accurate and timely data to the Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network (OPTN) for the ongoing review and analysis of policies and regulations relating to organ procurement and transplantation; 7) provide data to the Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA) on a monthly basis; and 8) produce a public use data tape. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by this agency. Solicitation HRSA 240-BHRD-5(6) will be released on or about March 11, 1996. Offerors will have sixty (60) days from release of the Request For Proposal (RFP) to submit their proposal.
